I am a paramedic and I can't tell you how many people don't pay attention to our emergency vehicles. People are too busy in their vehicles to notice our lights and in turn, delay our arrival. It is a daily frustration I deal with. No matter what side of the road the emergency vehicle is on, you need to pull to the side of the road when you see it, unless you are on the interstate. Don't pull over on the interstate, just get into the far right lane.

I am one of the people that came upon this accident before the police had time to get there . I can't believe the amount of vehicles that were going through the accident area instead of turning off and going another way . It was very easy to see that it was a major accident scene with injuries . After I deviated and went a different way , I met two police vehicles and an ambulance in the oncoming lane with red lights and sirens activated and the vehicle in front of them was not pulling over to the shoulder of the road to let them pass . I and the Truck behind Me pulled over and stopped so they could get through . People need to wake up to the laws and let the emergency vehicles through to do their job ! Someone's life depends on that . All lanes of traffic are to pull over and stop . It's the Law ! Too bad the cops couldn't Arrest them later for endangering someone's life !
