Packers' Rodgers may play despite shoulder sprain
Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says quarterback Aaron Rodgers sprained his shoulder but intends to play against Atlanta on Sunday.
McCarthy says Rodgers intends to play, but he will have a better idea if that's possible after Wednesday's practice. The Packers will monitor Rodgers’ progress in practice and prepare rookie backup Matt Flynn to start if needed.
Rodgers was injured during Sunday's 30-21 loss at Tampa Bay, but returned to the game. McCarthy says medical tests revealed no major structural damage.

led: sorry...I meant to say no one has BROKE that record since Joe Namath. Tied, yes. Broke it...no. It would have been fitting for Brett to break a fellow Jets' record during the FOURth week of the season...

momo your wrong. Namath was the last jet to throw 6 t.d's in a game. both Brady and Payton Manning have thrown for 6 t.d's in a game. get your fact straight before you write on here.

Ah...I miss Brett. I wish to heaven he was still here. Yes, Brett has been hurt, but he has never missed a game. You never heard him whine and complain. He earned the respect of his team, the staff, the fans and the whole NFL organization. He is and always be a class act.

How many TDs did A-Rodg have against the Lions? Sure wasn't six and they too were a team who had given up ship, NVgrf. Oh wait. That was until the Packers started to get out coached by that bafoon with a headset (McCarthy). If Woodson hadn't picked those 2 passes off of Kitna, the Packers would more than likely be 1-3 and not 2-2.
.
I don't care if you're playing against the Janesville Senior Center's football team. Brett still had to launch those balls, and they still had to be caught by an open receiver who was able to run the ball to the endzone. The Pats were on fire last year with the duo of Brady/Moss, but even Brady didn't have six in a game. No one has since Joe Namath.

Cardinals were 2-1 goin' into that Jets game. And, let's remember, Favre had to learn a completely new offense in a short amount of time. I'm sure he still doesn't have 100% of the playbook memorized yet. And he still had a career best game. That first interception in the Pack game wasn't Aaron's fault. But the other two interceptions were definitely his fault. Rodgers has a hard time recovering from mistakes. He's gotta learn to let them go so he can focus on the rest of the game.

Rodgers will be fine. Two of his three interceptions were not even close to his fault. He can't be blamed for balls bouncing off of receivers chests into the air. And Favre was up against a team that had totally given up the ship. Bart Starr could have had six against them....and he's in his 70's I believe.

how many MVP does pretty boy brady have? oh yeah only one. brett has three consecutive mvps. that is a better way to judge how great a player is than superbowl victories. Superbowls are a team victory, mvp is individual achevment. Using the superbowl victory logic would mean QBs such as dan marino and fran tarkenton were horrible QBs because they won zero superbowls. And to use Tom (pretty boy) Brady as an example is ridiculous. We all know those 3 superbowls should have a huge * by them for the cheating done by that pathetic organization.

Like i've said before; Management needs to be fired. Rogers is just a kid, that needs to be on the side lines. He's been on the side lines & still gets hurt.I knew he was a baby that couldn't handle it.When the going gets tough, you need a MAN like favre, not some whimp!! GO JETS ALL THE WAY! MIKE YOU PI-- ME OFF!!

Favre played with a seperated shoulder. from Reggie White of all people. and why diss on Favre? he's the greatest football player to ever play the game. I would love to see what Tom Brady is doing when he is 38, and I'm sure if the packers had been cheating all those years like the patriots were he would have more championships than Brady. and as for Rodgers, he's really good, but he's really weak. we were spoiled for 16 years with a gifted quarterback who never missed a game and he won't miss a game this year with the jets. back to the packers. they have to sign a vetran quarterback right now. call up culpepper because that rookie looked terible.

Yeah . . . Maybe if Favre would have allowed is body to heal the Packers might have won more than one super bowl the entire time he was the quaterback. Tom Brady is missing the entire season and he has already won how many . . . three?

Didn't Favre at one time or another have "turf toe"? Doesn't that amount to a stubbed toe?

I think he stubbed his toe on a roll out. Thompson is covering it up saying it's a shoulder injury.

Rodgers did not sprain his shoulder throwing a pass. he was scrambling and when he was tackled he fell on the ball awkwardly. Now with that straightened out, who didnt see this coming. Bretts consecutive start streak is nearing 300 and Rodgers streak may end at 4. pathetic!

Brett would play grieving, half dead, broken body parts, and still plays better than Aaron. Aaron may be a good quaterback someday, but is not quite there. BUT on the flip side does everyone remember Brett the first two seasons?? He did not become a legend over night. BUT seriously they should have had backups with some experience. That is just good mgmt.

I thought the entire team did poorly. The defense wasn't even there. The offensive line allowed sacks and major pressure on Rodgers, it seemed like the only person awake was Woodson. The whole team didn't show yesterday. I think Rodgers is a great QB. He has done fine until ONE game. Don't you remember Brett's games where he threw INT after INT, also his passes started to get behind the players, and Rodgers passes are money!

What is the deal that he can't stay healthy?? And the backups PLEASE,,, someone save us. They are very scary.. Almost threw a intercep yesterday.. This should make Brett smile.. but he won't he has more class than that.
THOMPSON should have gotten a vet.player as a backup.. for this very reason.

I predicted this from the moment Rodgers was named the starter. Now he is injured and the Packers only have two rookies to back him up. The Packers have no chance of making the playoffs without Brett Favre.
