Stakeout of scrap metal nets two arrests
JANESVILLE—Two 18-year-old Janesville men were arrested on charges of trespassing early today at a residence on South River Road.
Rock County Sheriff’s Office deputies working second shift received a burglary complaint Sunday night. During the investigation, deputies located a pile of scrap metal toward the rear of the home in the 3600 block of South River Road.
It appeared the suspects were not able to pick up the scrap metal during the initial burglary so deputies set up surveillance. At 4:21 a.m. today, deputies observed two vehicles drive behind the house and that’s when they made the arrests, said Commander Troy Knudson.
The investigation continues, he said.

Well it doesn't say what they stole in the initial burglary, just that they could pick the scrap metal up. It doesn't say that it was an attempted burglary the first time... not that the Gazette always has the correct information (which may not be thier fault). Plus, burglary is burglary, no matter what you steal... it's against the law and not the boys property....

If they are going to clean up "scrap" why stop them? They must need the money, and the owner gets rid of some junk. What is the problem??
