Doyle got money from nuclear power company

By Associated Press   September 3, 2008 - 10:11 a.m.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new study has found executives of a Florida utility gave Gov. Jim Doyle almost $24,000 weeks before Doyle softened his stance against nuclear power.

Florida Power & Light Co. owns the Point Beach nuclear power plant near Two Rivers. The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign’s review of Doyle’s campaign finances found 30 executives and one of their spouses from Florida Power & Light and their three other nuclear power plants handed Doyle $23,750 on June 27.

Doyle has long been an opponent of nuclear power. But in August he backtracked, saying he was open to studying the option.

Doyle’s spokesman Lee Sensenbrenner didn’t immediately return a message for comment.

If we manage to get Doyle out of Wisconsin, perhaps we can get a new Governor who will sign a concealed carry law so we can protect ourselves from the results of all the changes that will come from Washington.
.
Having a Govenrnor who isn't for sale or rent would be a big change for Wisconsin.

Being a huge supporter of Nuclear Power to produce Electricity, I'm pleased to see that Gov. Doyle is willing to change his position on this issue.

France has installed over 25 nuclear power generation plants in the past 15 or so years. They are a standardized design and changes to one are made to all. They nation now generates over 80% of it's electricity from this clean and renewable source, in addition to generating power for customer states in Europe. France has finally, really become a "Power Broker" in Europe and without the Germans marching down the streets of Paris!

Gov. Doyle is a man that has strong feelings on this topic and he stood in the way of any changes here in Wisconsin for a long time. He has now accepted financial incentives to change his position.

It's nice to be able to see a man that can't be bought but,... can be rented for a slight campain fee. How typical of politicans.

Yes, but maybe with enough people watching him he won't be able to play his games.

The other problem with Doyle in Washington is that he will be in Washington.

The only good thing that might happen if the party of change gets voted into office in November will be if the mighty Obama gives Doyle a job in washington and he leaves Wisconsin.
