McCain, Palin to stop in Wisconsin
Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is scheduled to speak in Cedarburg on Friday morning.
McCain is expected to accept the GOP nomination for president the night before at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. His Cedarburg appearance presumably will be his first since becoming the GOP’s official candidate.
Wisconsin Republican Party spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski says McCain’s vice presidential pick, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, will accompany him. McCain’s wife, Cindy, and Palin’s husband, Todd, also will be on hand.

Kiowamohican: Unfortunately, Sen. McCain's voting record shows he has backed Bush-endorsed policies more than 90 percent of the time. We can't bank on a 10 percent chance of real change occurring. It's time to step up to the plate and tackle this country's issues.

Spanky: Obama is the only candidate who is both talking about the energy issue AND has a record of voting for expansion of renewable energy sources. His entire agenda ties into the issue whether directly or indirectly. I think it is a vital issue and must be addressed now (and should have been addressed decades ago). This country needs to stop looking at short-term solutions to our long-term problems.

McCain has very different views on issues then Bush. Many conservatives wish that was not the case, but it's simply the truth, no mater how much the left tries to pin Bush to McCain. The two were big adversaries in 1999 during the primaries, and never really saw eye to eye after the SC primary. McCain spent many years in the senate opposing Bush, and actually siding with the Democrats on many legislative issues (McCain/Feingold, McCain/Kennedy, McCain /Leibermann)
.
McCain really is a center Republican. The only reason he has a great chance to win this thing is because of this. The conservatives will likely go his way because he is the better of two evils, and his moderate/center views have a lot of appeal to independents. His amazing personal story, and maverick approach to politics will also have a lot of appeal to people who vote for the man/woman, and not on the issues. Believe it or not, there are way more people out there like that, then many realize.

John & Sara stop will stop in a wealthy community in Wisconsin while Barrack & Joe take their show to a blue collar neighborhood. In the mean time, Barrack’s actor buddy is in Switzerland hosting $10,000 a plate fund raising dinners getting money from hundreds of wealthy Europeans.
.
So, who would have the most concern for the well being of the American people? The wealthy Cederburgians or the rich elite Europeans that would like see the dollar stay weak so they can continue to loot our country?

Ayers was tapped by Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley to help found the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school reform program. Since 1999 he has served on the nine-member board of directors of the Woods Fund of Chicago, an anti-poverty, philanthropic foundation established in 1941. Ayers' contacts with the 2008 Democratic Nominee for President of the United States, Barack Obama became controversial in the 2008 United States presidential election. The two served together on the Woods Fund Board from 1999 until Obama left in 2002. Ayers had other contact with Obama as a resident of Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, hosting Obama's first fund raising reception in his first Illinois state Senate campaign in 1995, appearing on education panels together, and donating $200 to Obama's campaign in April 2001

Whybesad: He didn't exactly "hang out" with the Ayers guy. Even the Chicago newspapers said that report was garbage. And Obama praised McCain for his love of the USA. But that isn't exactly the issue for many of us in this election. I love McCain and would love to vote for him just because of what he went through in Vietnam. However, he's backing more than 90 percent of President Bush's failed policies. I don't think this country can take another four years that resemble the past eight under Bush.

If he's so smart then why did he sit in the pew at his church for 20 years and listen to American hate speech? If he's so smart why did he hang out with a Known terrorist (Bill Ayres)? Do you really think John Macain would have sat in that pew for more than 30 seconds if he heard someone degrade his country? The country that he served and fought for and was tortured for 5 1/2 years.

I'm really surprised their strategists would advise them to come to this state. This state is totally lost for them. They are way down in the polls here, and if it ever does gets close, Doyle and the Democratic machine will just use vote fraud to win anyway. What a waste of time. They should be in OH, PA, and MI if they are really serious about winning this thing.

Some things about politics are so dumb, yet funny to me, in a distorted way.
McCain and Palin are coming to Wisconsin. Let’s see: on one side, McCain said he doesn’t know how many houses he owns, and on the other side Obama wasn’t sure how many states there are. Give me a break. Some of you don’t seem to have any grasp of ANY REAL ISSUES? The stupidity of trying to find flaws in the candidates and nitpicking is just plain dumb. Sort through the BS and search for the truth. Educate yourself about the issues and keep in mind that there is always more than one side to an argument and everyone has opinions. Having an open mind about things is very important. If one has an open mind, some facts and some intelligence, that person can work wonders.
Just MY opinion.

shutupandfish and justmyopinion.....am I suppose to feel sorry for everybody else because I went to college to do well for myself? My parents, who do not have 4 year degrees encouraged my sisters and I to go to school and do something with our lives. My sister didn't sit on her butt to get to where she is today and still has to work hard to maintain it...so that's a crime because instead she is supposed to feel sorry for others for not being as well off as her? Everybody has opportunities, it's just a matter of if you sat there and whined about it or if you tried to figure out how to better yourself. My father was laid off twice in the 80s and he didn't sit and whine that it was Reagan's fault, and we certainly didn't get any assistance from the government growing up, and they still sent all 3 of us to college- without federal assistance. We never had nice cars and never had cable and we always got stuff on sale or had hand-me-downs. And when we got new things, we had to be thankful for it and do our chores without any lip. I myself live in an apartment because I can't afford a decent house on my own because the government doesn't hand things out to me...but my money sure helps others to have things I would like myself.
I'm a conservative and proud of it.

Perhaps "Cedarburgians" and other people who have worked hard to get someplace have a good reason to be scared of the Obama platform. Anyone who has managed to acquire any kind of assets and doesn't care to pay for more and more social programs ought to drive to Cedarburg to hear what McCain has to say.
