Arson suspected in Janesville fire
JANESVILLE
Police are investigating as possible arson a fire that did about $200,000 damage to a business on Janesville’s south side early Saturday morning.
Firefighters found flames and smoke shooting into the sky when they responded at 3:02 a.m. Saturday to Tigre USA, 2315 Beloit Ave., the Janesville Fire Department reported.
No one was injured, but damage was extensive to PVC pipe stacked on pallets in a 30- by 50-foot area outside the business.
Tigre USA makes PVC pipe, fire personnel said.
Also damaged was a transformer.
The fire stayed outside the building, fire personnel said.
The cause is listed as undetermined, but no heat source was found near the fire, prompting the investigation.

gettin to look alot like beloit used to. Poverty is starting to raise its ugly head. Some laugh at GM and other closings but wait and see there is alot more to come. Crime grows with poverty and people at a big loss in life have nothing to loose ?. Don't get to smart mouthed yet just wait and see. I predict a major shooting within 3 months. I pray I am wrong. It just fits the profile.

Dont worry once GM closes it will get alot worse than it is now! Look at how Kenosha was back when AMC closed there in the 80's I hope the police here will be ready......

it does seem to be getting worse for sure. someone posted a link to a sight that shows crime rates in janesville. the disturbing part was that rapes and violent assaults have nearly doubled since 1999. other crimes have stayed relatively the same, with a few such as thefts dropping.

What is going on in this city?! Possible arsons, a murder-suicide, poverty rates escalating, GM and other businesses closing down for good ...
