Packers’ Lambeau conduct code

By Associated Press   August 12, 2008 - 8:38 a.m.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The Green Bay Packers say the team has an "enhanced“ code of conduct for fans at Lambeau Field.

The Packers are putting up more signs detailing conduct expectations at the stadium parking lots, at concession stands and in the concourses. Behavior guidelines are also included in the season ticket holder handbook.

Among the behavior that won’t be tolerated at Lambeau Field is abusive or foul language, obscene actions, fighting, taunting and intoxication.

Nine people were arrested last night for various offenses at Lambeau Field during the first preseason game. Twelve others were ejected.

They don't sell alcohol at the Wisconsin football games, but yet if you are an opposing fan the behavior toward you is ridiculous and uncalled for.
.
Even if you're a Badger fan the behavior and language is boorish and embarrassing.
.
Point is, whether they sell it in the stadium or not, Wisconsinites will not be deterred.

If you "pulled" someone's ticket forever, wouldn't you hurt their feelings?

janesvillian:
I think, but am not sure, that they do stop selling beer at Lambeau right before the fourth quarter.

ask11-I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience at Lambeau. I think (by looking at other posts) that it is pretty common all over.

MYTWOCENTS-Yeah, peeing in a sink isn't really ever a good idea, but it is a funny story! $960? Crazy.

If one is a repeat offender and they are a season-ticket holder, pull their tickets forever and let one of the 78,000 on the waiting list get a chance at happiness.

Good idea to just stop alcohol sales after half time and let people sober up a little before driving home. Or to be real safe, just stay home and watch on your big screen!!!

Actually, DrTalk has a point. Since most MLB teams stopped selling alcohol after the seventh inning, a lot of problems have been avoided.

Try going to a Vikings game once. We went many years ago, and the viking fans were fighting each other before the game even started. Then, if you're lucky to have WI license plates, then you can have rocks thrown at you while you drive under overpasses. When we went to the Packer/Viking game at Lambeau, much more mellow. We joked around with the fans, but no one got out of control, even the guy wearing the Heidi braids!

localboysince1968,
This article mentions "behavior that won’t be tolerated at Lambeau Field." How many car accidents have occurred inside Lambeau Field? If that was a problem, they would have listed it. How many people are procreating inside Lambeau Field? Well that's covered under obscene actions. Spousal abuse would be covered under fighting.
Yeah, I'm sure if they stopped selling alcohol there would be some who would get drunk before the game, but it would reduce the overall intoxications.

DrTalk - be for real. Lets stop car accidents by eliminating cars. Let's stop spousal abuse by eliminating couples. Let's stop children born out of wedlock by eliminating procreation.

I know how to stop the intoxication problem: Don't sell alcohol.

ask11 - I have been to many pro-football venues in my life, and Green Bay was the best one of them. I went to the NFC Championship game in Dalls in 1995, and I feared for my life. They were crazy, whipping cheese at our heads, and throwing plastic beer cups at us. The language would make a drunken sailor blush. I was happy we got out of there with out a fight. Tampa, close but not as bad. Chicago was right up there. San Fran, not good, either was Indianapolis. If you had a bad experience in Green Bay, it might have been provoked.

They are probably concerned about how everyone will be reacting when they see Ted Thompson this year.

Those sound like all the reasons someone would want to go to a game.

"Among the behavior that won’t be tolerated at Lambeau Field is abusive or foul language, obscene actions, fighting, taunting and intoxication."

But what will be tolerated is misdemeanor disorderly conduct by Nick Barnett and felony drug possession by Johnny Jolly.
