Beloit Avenue bridge opened

JANESVILLE—A bridge on Beloit Avenue that had been closed because of flooding opened Tuesday.

The bridge, near the intersection with Palmer Drive, carries Beloit Avenue over Spring Brook.

The bridge was not damaged, but engineers had been concerned with what looked like some settling of the pavement on the approaches to the bridge, said Director of Public Works Jack Messer.

The bridge was reopened after officials determined there was no danger.

Drivers will experience a bump as they enter the bridge, but there are plans to fix it, Messer said.
