Cats keep adding up in Fond du Lac home
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — The cat count keeps climbing.
The Fond du Lac Humane Society now says about 200 cats were pulled earlier this week from a home where two brothers lived.
Fond du Lac police initially estimated about 165 animals had been saved.
The humane society’s manager, Lucy Mathers, says it was chaotic on Monday and Tuesday when the animals were brought to the shelter, and employees may have missed some kittens during the initial count. A re-count turned up about several dozen more cats than thought.
Mathers says five cats have had to be euthanized so far.
She says the society continues to check over the cats and provide care. It needs volunteers and donations of food, litter and cleaning supplies.

I wonder how many animals would be spayed and neutered if they would have a few 'free' clinics a couple of times a year. Or maybe the vet's could drop their high prices on this procedure so normal families could afford to do it!! I also have a hard time when rescuers say they are saving the animals when in fact they put them to sleep the minute they bring them in. I guess in the life of a rescuer, life is measured in quality and not quanity? The animal be it bird, cat, dog or other is saved to be killed. Don't go all crazy with comments, I understand the logic, just hate the "ends justify the means" thing.

SPAY and NEUTER. If you love cats it's the only option that makes sense.

Those poor cats.
I volunteer for the Humane Society and all I can say is people need to learn how to take care of their pets if they're going to bother to have them.
