Perhaps the churches might consider taking a special offering on Sunday to donate to this fund - perhaps the grcery stores might do car washes with proceeds going for gas cards - perhaps the bar across from Anchor might consider a special event with a band to raise some money.

We used to pass fake IDs at O'Meara's Pub so so many years ago....it is hard to look at those flood photos.
*
And keep in mind, help will be needed to haul all those sandbags, carpeting, drywall, insulation, etc away.
*
The Kinnetts are just awesome, so says my friends, so says me.

After being made aware of the postings, we thought that it was important for us to reply. This fund was set up for residents of Newville, Indianford, Mallwood, etc. Each request for help will be taken by myself or my wife and forwarded to a committee for action. My only part in this operation is to help identify those who ask for help and to help those who need help with sandbagging or getting in touch with county staff. If you are aware of anyone who needs help, please contact the number in the article. Also; food, water and other staples are available at the red apple car wash in Newville. Any questions or comments can be sent to me at jfkinn@charter.net. Best wishes to everyone. John & Dawn Kinnett

My parents and friends know John at the Anchor well, and he is a super person, and the Anchor is a local institution.

If you don't think donations are badly needed, go to www.RKLD.org and take a look at the photos posted on their blog.

The devastation is devastating.

I agree ~ this is wonderful when people pitch in and do things like this.
Tweetpea is right though, more manpower is needed doing sandbags if you are able. I've been to Newville with my husband & I am taking off of work early today to go help. It would be nice to see everyone in the community helping out anyway they can.
Some people go above & beyond in helping and then there are others that do absolutely nothing & don't care. That's sad.
There have been people that dropped off food, etc. at the Newville sandbagging station which is heartwarming. Culvers even sent down several boxes of french fries for everyone.
Way to go to everyone helping !!!
And good luck to all those in trouble with your homes & businesses.

Who's administering the funds here? Are they only for Newville or all residents and businesses impacted by this disaster?

Isn't John great? He was out helping the people on Ellendale Rd put sandbags around their homes last Saturday and now he's setting up donations for that community!! Have you seen his business lately?? He's completely under water and he still is worried about others. Way to go John!!

My Fiancee and I have been working when he gets off work every afternoon and he even took Wednesday off just so we could be in Newville doing what we can to help those in need right now we need more man power but the sad thing is, is that Fema will not help and refuses to do so, My Fiancee and I have a lot of pictures of this flood, this breaks my heart to see a lot of familys and business' losing there places come on people wake up help those in need let me ask all of you out there that are not helping if you were in need of help you would want it you would be calling for us to come running but it seems to me when it doesn't concern you, you just sit back and act as if nothing is wrong. Every day that we go to Newville the water level is up and still rising.

This is great!! please donate something either manpower for sandbagging or anything you can afford. I eat at the Anchor Inn everyday for lunch and Jon is a great guy and has a great establishment which is almost surrounded by water now!
