Teen to face trial on charges of posting nude pic on MySpace
LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) — A La Crosse teen accused of posting nude pictures of a 16-year-old girl on his MySpace page has been bound over for trial.
Seventeen-year-old Alex Phillips stood mute at a preliminary hearing Wednesday, so the court recorded not-guilty pleas to the charges of child pornography, sexual exploitation of a child and defamation.
Prosecutors say the girl took the photos of herself and e-mailed them to Phillips about two months ago. When she learned the photos had been posted, her mother called police.
According to the criminal complaint, Phillips was told he could be jailed for posting the photos but told police he would still keep them up.
A call to public defender Patricia O’Neil’s office after business hours Wednesday rang unanswered.

The photograph of the accused (on Smoking Gun web site) tells its own story: The boy appears filled with rage and about to erupt. In addition to that, the girl is just plain stupid. They both need psychiatric help!

If you read the criminal complaint as posted here- http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/yea... - you will see that this is no kiss and tell. This young man had cruel retribution on his mind, and judging from his comments both to police and the captions he wrote for the pictures he posted, this is a seriously evil young man. This was no mistake, no innocent joke, no harmless venting. This was a calculated effort to humiliate and degrade both this girl and her new boyfriend. The fact that she is underage is, to me, an aggravating circumstance. Such behavior should be, if it isn't already, illegal no matter how old the victim is, or where the perpetrator obtained the material he publicly posted. This intervention in his life may circumvent future such cruelty. This isn't just about sex, though it is sad that some think that sexual promiscuity among the young is not worth the trouble.

Jackson, your not only a member you might as well be the club president!
LOL good one
~Trust in the one you love~?? Now a days that doesn't mean much i guess. She (16yr old) had been dating him for the last 3 yrs, He asked her for some nude pics and YES she didn't use good judgment. She sent them to his e-mail and told him NOT to show anyone!! She trusted him. She also tried to help him over the years, he gets depressed and she spends hrs on the phone trying to talk him out of hurting himself, etc
For him posting those was a kick in the face, and the things he said below the pics was something NO ONE should ever say to any woman. She wanted to move on with her life and for that he attacked her mom and her. I'm sure he will be someones GIRLFRIEND in prison!!!

-- A 15-YEAR-OLD JANESVILLE BOY referred to juvenile authorities on charges of arson to property other than a building and criminal damage at 12 a.m. Wednesday after police responded to McKinley and South Locust streets in Janesville for a report of burning material sticking out of the gasoline fill tube of a Dodge Caravan. The officer extinguished the fire, and when firefighters extracted the unburned portion of the paper, they found the boy’s name on it.
-- JEANNETTE K. MAENNER, 17, of 5667 N. Northwood Trail, Janesville, on charges of theft of a financial card and fraudulent use of a credit card Wednesday.
So, is this also kids just being kids? Is this also just a waste of our tax dollars? Remember the article on desensitizing of child molestation and pornography.....well there you have it Jackson, your not only a member you might as well be the club president!

I think the difference in intent between the two actions is clear. She may have exercised poor judgement in giving him the photos in the first place, but poor judgement isn't a crime. On the other hand, he clearly wanted other people to see her photos and almost certainly a lot of people did get copies (that are now floating out there) before this was reported.
.
On the other hand, I don't think he should be treated the same as an internet perv for this, again based on intent. He was trying to hurt her personally, and he is still a minor himself. We don't expect minors to exercise adult judgement in everything.

Someone should charge the girl, too, for distributing child pornography.

Total waste of time. Like when a two 16 years olds have sex and a parent complains and both end up getting charged with statutory rape. I agree too. What did that girl think was gonna happen with those pictures when they broke up. If you ask me, both of these kids were not thinking about the consequences of their actions.

In my opinion she is at fault too. She probablly didn't need a gun held to her head to pose nude (whether she took them or he did). He was totally wrong to post them and then to keep them up. I pray for my young daughter growing up in todays society that promotes sex at such a young age!
