Voters scale back Wis. governor's veto power
MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin voters have approved a plan to scale back the veto power wielded by their governors.
A majority of voters agreed in a statewide referendum Tuesday to amend the constitution to ban what critics call the Frankenstein veto.''
Gov. Jim Doyle and his successors will no longer be able to cobble together words and numbers from multiple sentences in spending bills to create policies never approved by lawmakers.
Doyle has used the power to reshape budgets to his liking since taking office in 2003. Among other things, he has increased aid for schools by millions of dollars through the maneuver.
The referendum marks the 142nd time voters have agreed to change the state constitution since its adoption in 1848.

The "hypocrisy" is Jim Doyle trying to eliminate it when he was Attorney General, then trying to keep it when he's Governor.
It's the old; "I was actually against it before I was for it."

I find it interesting that under Tommy Dumbson and the Republican'ts it was great. The minute a democrat has the power it is a something horrific. Keep up the hypocrisy.

Who are the ignorant and/or naive 29% of the people who voted in favor of Frankenstein? Scary to think it got that many votes.....
