localboysince1968:you will pay the same no matter what the JPD takes in for fines.the people who generally get these tickets are those who are in lower income brackets that cannot afford houses with driveways.Janesville police have always targeted low income people.
take the 4th of july for instance, they patrol the forthward giving tickets to anyone with questionable legal fireworks when all around the rest of the city, people are lighting off huge illegal bombs.we wont even see an officer all night long when these are going off.my neighbors are rock county deputies and they even light off the really big ones.
just something to think about.....

The police should ticket the illegal parkers. If people didn't break the law, we wouldn't need the police department. How about a little personal responsibility? yaboy22 - the more the JPD takes in from law breakers, the less us law abiding tax payers need to pay in. I do like the idea of alternate parking. I don't need it, but the current idea was made for a small city, which we are no longer.

Would it be too large a burden to have alternate-side parking for snow days? There aren't enough places to park if you don't have a driveway. Other cities are successful with altenate-side parking in snow emergencies. What's the difference in Janesville?
