I last week drove the still under construction Il.toll way. Is it very nice after leaving the construction area. Six lanes all the way into Rockford, that being all the further I went. This State still wants to put off constructing Six lanes, from the State line to Madison once again. Why doesn't the State of Wi. have a toll system?Pay higher taxes instead!

What others have said. Toll booths at all major Wisconsin entry points. If it has anything other than a Wisconsin plate on it, $5 to $10 bucks a car to enjoy our hospitality. Provisions could be made for workers who live out of state and OTR truckers. I don't think anyone from IL would blink an eye at paying to get into WI for tourism and recreation.

Bottom line here, they'll pay a lot more than we will. Nobody really needs to use the Interstate to get to the other side of town.

Toll collection is just another form of taxation. No tolls, its a rediculous suggestion.

I would support tolls for non residents only.

I would support them, but I think that with the WI license plate registration, each car gets a pass similar to the I-pass that is included with the registration. This way, WI cars do not have to pay tolls, only out of state cars.

My estimate of 2500 cars is for cash paying only. I know there are lots more with I-Pass

It will eventually get out of hand like Illinois. Yesterday I was given a notice that the toll booth by Dixon Illinois (I-88) will increase from $1.90 (cash) to $3.80!!!! It will go to $1.80 from the current $.90 with an I-Pass. I pass this booth frequently and to be honest, the road isn't in all that good of shape. Where does this money go? At a conservative estimate of 2500 cars a day that adds up to $9500 a day and almost $3.5 million a year. AT ONE TOLL BOOTH!!!

We already pay a toll to drive on our roads, it's 32.9 cents per gallon. If the state would do away with the gas taxes then sure, I'm fine with toll roads. Just remember though, tolls usually only go up just like in NY City where it used to cost a semi truck $40.00 just to cross a 1/10 mile bridge and they want to raise it to $90.00 by 2014. We pay for all those commercial tolls in ALL the products we buy.

It would be kinda nice to get all those Illinois drivers to chip in a bit to our State when they are heading to Wisconsin every weekend.....

We already pay too much in taxes we don't need and can't afford another tax! If Boyle and his cronies hadn't kept robbing the hiway funds for other things the roads wouldn't be in the shape that they are in now!

Only to a point...I would be more in favor of a system similar to what Indiana an Ohio have, where you only pay tolls while entering and exiting the freeway. Illinois has way too many to ensure good traffic flow, even with I-Pass. My support would also depend greatly on a discount system being offered to WI residents.

I voted no because of the cost employees, insureance, etc. Now if it was all automated using prepade cards or VISA cards then that would work just fine. I would vote yes.

If it drops the tax levy on WI drivers. The problem WILL be that it will be used to provide babysitting for other peoples' kids or corp. tax breaks. Lose lose.

I think only for out of state drivers. I would agree to this in IL. I will pay in IL and IL people don't have to if from IL. IF live in WI don't have to but if visiting from another state you have to.

For all license plates other than WI. Perhaps Double fees for Illinois and California license plates :-)
