PBR, jealous? I'm not jealous in the least, I'm what's known as "financially competent". ( I have no interest in helping the rich get richer at the expense of others)

I wasn't going to but when the Packers put a gun to my head and said buy or die I had no other choice.

Apparently there is a lot of busy bodies out there that are concerned about how others spend their money. If you can afford to buy the stock, then do it. Don't worry about the others out there that are jealous.....

The point is, the Packers aren't selling this "novelty" stock share to people because they want to enhance their fan's finances. It's a means to make money off a following of people who could better spend their money in a better area of their life. (They just don't know that there is a better area in life to spend it) There's the bottom line, the truth, whether you choose to accept it or not... Peace out!

Your assumptions are incorrect. In my profession, I meet people on a daily basis to whom I'm working with to help them through their financial crisis. I know that's not proof enough for you, I'm just positive that CNN, "Dancing With The Stars" or Two and A Half Men won't inform you of those things.......

Answering my question with a question is ridiculous. You're the one making the assertion that people can't afford the tickets they buy. Where is your proof? Consumer debt is actually going DOWN.

Really, the only point I get from your rant is that you don't like entertainment. Well, you don't have to watch it.

Zoom~ What makes you think just because someone's employed they can afford tickets? To answer your question, many people do buy things they can't afford...why do you think credit card companies are thriving while most of the country is broke?? Many people have proven that they can get things that they truly can't afford. You say local entertainment is replacing vacations.... maybe so. If you want to deny that this country has been and continues to be entertained to death, have at it. It doesn't change the fact it's the truth. I can assure you that shows aren't put on TV soley to entertain the masses... there's a price involved and it's called "consumer capital".

Kleej, what evidence do you have that people who can't afford tickets are buying them? Contrary to popular belief, there are a whole lot of people still employed in the state.

In this economy, local entertainment is replacing traditional vacations. People don't go to professional sporting events to watch "millionaires", they go to watch people do what only 1 in a million can do.

Hmmm, in reading some of the comments, I feel like a few of you should be at the Occupy Wall Street protests, with the morons there with no message, and making a mess. The Packers aren't forcing everyone to get these stocks, its volunteer. If you don't want one, dont get one. I will......they are about the only thing I can look forward to with my grandchildren these days.

Another way to encourage "the lost" to part with their money. Amazing how many people can't even afford a ticket, yet somehow they find a way to show up to the game with their faces painted in green, funding and cheering for millionaires that they'll never meet....

Why would anyone want to DONATE money to a millionaires club? Why not reduce each player $1M a year for a few years and they'll then have the necessary funds to remodel.

Green -- if you just want to throw away your money fine, but there is no value in the stock.... there never will be. So if you have enough to throw away, I can take some cash off your hands.

I already have my stock. The meetings are really quite fun! That said, I agree that this is simply a voluntary tax. If you don't want to pay - then just don't buy the stock. Could it be more fair?

I'd rather "invest" in the Packers future success through a "stock sale" than pour money into the stadium ect. through tax increases.

It's not really stock in the traditional sense anyway. It's more like memorabilia, with a few perks.
