I wish my Husband could get a job. But alas, age discrimination is VERY alive here. Someone actually told him to his face that his boss did not want to hire older people. I told my Husband that if that were me, I would have reported the company immediately for discrimination. You companies out there better read the laws again about discrimination. Just because we are older, does not mean that we can't do the job. On the contrary, we are probably work harder and are more reliable than SOME of the younger ones that you hire.

I finally got a job so I could vote! I hate my job. It's $6.36 less per hour than my previous one and I have to do three times the work. After being laid-off for so long though, I don't dare leave it without another one. I'm just glad to be working.

I love my job. Science, law, and politics all rolled into one. Been here (Madison) 15 years, and don't need no stinking union to take care of me. I work my butt off to make sure they love me and need me here.

Despite bad weather and high prices, the economy is slowly recovering. I hope employers who have frozen wages and/or imposed unpaid furloughs to compensate for lost revenues remember that since the bank/auto industry crashes the costs of goods and services have continued to creep up and that they consider COLA (Cost Of Living Allowance) raises for their employees.
