Get rid of McCarthey and bring Brett in whether as QB or coach? This may be a good start. Brett brings charisma to this team, Something they have lost.

fire the whole coaching staff, including Ted Thompson... with the way the off season was played out, you knew this was going to be a difficult year (both for the mang't and players)
As for Rogers.. I think he showed his own, coming into a battle field of disruption and uncertinty.. Brett vs. Aaron, teh numbers are pretty even.. QB rating, pass completions, total yards... The proof is in the "Pudding".. GB should be glad they are were they are where they are at today ..ALL BECAUSE OF TED, MIKE AND THE BOYS!!!... AGAIN FIRE THE WHOLE MESS AND START REBUILDING, NEW TEAM MANG'T FROM TEH TOP DOWN... the playere are doing what they are taught, doing what they are told, and playing the way mang't wants... So Good bye to Sanders,, (since his defensive scheme sucked from the get go.. can't stop anyone inthe redzone,, let alone the entier field) Keep the chopping block going.. Too bad Bob Harlen isn't still there.. Heads would roll....

and, Les, Ted won't play the free agent dance with players....it is ridiculous how far below the salary cap GB operates but yet won't spend it for the betterment of the team. Ron Wolf? He would spend...and did...and, oh yeah, that's right, went to the Super Bowl 2x and won it once.
.
Ask a former player what they REALLY think of him. It won't be positive, that's for sure!

LesBoogie: "draft well" and "keep the systems in place" do not go in the same sentence when you figure the one drafting is Beaker (from the Muppets)....aka Ted Thompson.

zoom: listed below are 4 VERY different years in Brett's illustrious career. 1996 (when they went to and won Super Bowl 31, 2005 (when they were 4-12), 2007 (when they were 13-3 amd went as far as the NFC Championship game) and 2008 (when he went to a NEW team with a NEW offense and some say he self-destructed and showed he was a has been). Can you pick the years?? WITHOUT looking the stats up....I'm guessing not...it's not as clear cut as one might imagine. Statistically speaking, Brett had as good of a year as he's had in much of his career--even WITH the meltdown in the last 5 games. Packers? Yeah. Not so much.

Fire McCarthey and Thompson. Thompson is an idiot and McCarthey makes decisions like he is playing a game of Madden Football. 4th and 10, lets go for it. We are lucky we didn't fall to the Lions both times this year.

How About "None of the Above".
Packers should have played today but they could not finish games. 11 wins is what they should of had but they couldn't close the deal. They need to keep the system in place, draft well and bring in top notch free agents. Look how much of a difference a guy like Jared Allen of the Viqueens can make.
The Super Bowl teams of 97 and 98 were stacked decks. We had all the good free agents coming to Green Bay to get a piece of the action.
We don't need to talk about what if Favre?
He would have thrown int.s and we'd have had the same frustration.
The best thing that can happen with Brett is that he signs a one day contract with GB and retires a Packer......

Technically, Favre wanted to be gone first. I'm not sure how anyone could think Favre would have been better for the Packers this year than Rodgers, especially after seeing Favre's self destruction over the last four games.

If anyone wants to talk about morale in the locker room: look no further than Ryan Grant. Haggerjp, you are so right on with your post! Ryan Grant is such an egotistical arse. (I don't have this opinion of him just from watching him 3 hours a week on Sundays on TV. I've been in "his space" a few different times...and none of them were any more positive than the ones prior).
.
Sure, Favre has been accused of being such but he "retired" and the team went in that direction. Ryan Grant? Packers thought he was going to be their guy and didn't do much in the offseason to prepare otherwise (why would they?!) But, low and behold, he holds out just before and into training camp for more money. This is the same guy who nearly had his career ended in NY before he even broke daylight (severed artery in his arm) and once he came to GB, he had what? 6 maybe 7 good games...but he felt he was ENTITLED to more money. I think he even missed the first pre-season game or two and then...got hurt (because he wasn't conditioned)! That, my friends, causes more damage to the morale of the locker room than any sideshow a 39 year old man diva and the 3 Stooges can manufacture.
.
A-Rodg is NOT the problem in GB. (and Brett is NOT the problem in NY....but that's another topic)

I think that we need a new running back. Nothing against Ryan Grant, but he's just not fit for the zone blocking scheme. The zone blocking scheme our 0-line runs is more suited for a speedy, or shifty back. Brandon Jackson, if not a back not currently on the Packer's roster, is going to have to start for the Packers to have much luck. Ryan Grant just doesn't have the speed to get to the corner, he is more suited as a bruiser, running north to south. Give Brandon Jackson another chance at the starting job, he has matured tremendously over the past two seasons, and did average 5.5 yards per carry this year compared to Grant's 3.9.

I think its a combination of all that lead to the fall of the Pack. Aaron did a lot better than I expected he would. But the drama over the Favre issue hurt the team as a whole especially in moral. I do think overall the general manager needs to be gone. And I agree with usaret, anyone who fails to do their job in reality loses their job. And in current economic times, I think that anyone who makes millions or hundreds of thousands should be grateful for what they have, because it could be gone tomorrow.

Stop blaming, start playing. Start earning the wages your paid. If we worked like you played---we would be fired. Get ready for the new season and remember, your professional's in your field. ACT LIKE IT! Maybe you'll win as a team.
