My mother passed away 22 yrs ago. Just before Mothers day of 1986. I was set to graduate the following June. It bothers me now that I am having difficulty remembering her voice, her laugh, etc. I am often reminded when one of my children says, "Did your mom used to say that?" My mom never told me I couldn't have a person for a friend. She only reinforced the values I had within myself. She always said to find something beautiful about everyone and choose who is the right kind of influence on my life. Thanks Mom. We all make mistakes but thank you for giving me something to go for in life.

mom was a drunk and a bum and chased all my siblings away from home...was she a mother...no...my father was more of a mother than my real mother....I'll wait for father's day!

I think it is a combination of all of the above, one without the other and you come across bumps in the pathway of life. Not that they won't be there anyway but the more knowledge the more power one has.

I'd be completely lost without my mom.

When I was growing up I remember that my mom never spared the rod, made me go to church and told me not to get married until after age 28 so I could get all the running around out of my system. Every one of those has influenced my life and it's the same upbringing I am using to raised my three boys. Only difference is a little less of the rod and a little more spoil.

It's nice that you all had a good role model with your mothers. I do my best to be a good role model for my children. I love my mother very dearly. It is because of her that I am nothing like her. I strive to be a better parent than she was to me and my brother.

I second that sassy! But the most important gift my Mom gave me was telling me about a relationship I could have with my heavenly maker. That single teaching has affected all the other areas of my life. I am grateful!

I only get to pick one? My Mom has influenced my attitudes in every one of these categories and more! I don't know who I'd be without her guidance, love and emotional support when I made a decision I would later regret. I'm SO thankful that God blessed me with the woman I get the privilege and honor to call Mom!
