I voted nothing.

Is that like voting "present" but not actually taking a side?

It's possible that I'm missing the bigger picture, but I'm struggling to see why this was even made into a vote.

Why not put up several towers on the fair grounds and use the revenue for a larger, more convenient and accessable fair ground, with better entertainment selections- i.e. rodeo and other variety items to suit everyone-not just old country music, and move it to another Rock County location? Just wondering.

You don't build cell towers on hills or high elevations. They are designed to blanket an area and the height of the tower is enough to do that. The actual range in a city is a few miles at best. At 100 feet the effective line of sight is at least twenty miles. So, you don't build them on a hill but where it is needed. Suggesting GM sounds a bit spitefull!

Why would you want a cell tower in a RESIDENTIAL district...? It has no business being there! fools.

How about on top of the Court House Building? Seems pretty HIGH up to me.... The revenue will help pay for the renovation of the Court House and the new Police Dept. Building. The OLD GM ??? Probably will be torn down soon -as soon as GMAD finds a way to make the tax payers pay for the clean up of all the contamination there-INSIDE & OUT. Seen they are removing all the water fountain inside the building as we speak-will certainly hide the brown water going through the pipes...and I'm not talking about the flood waters. I feel really sorry for those who drank that crap for years or made coffee out of it (the only way to hide the bad color/odor)

The elevation at GM is rather low, as is the entire river basin. It doesn't appear to be, but the fairgrounds is at a higher elevation, thus better a signal from a cell tower located there. Maybe one of you geographically knowledgable folks can help me out here on the difference of feet-above-sea-level.

Would the money be used for the fairgrounds or would it go into the general fund?

Dr Fever: Because the population density and median income is much lower near the old GM building... not as many cell phone users who would be using high bandwidth services.

An alternative would be near the interstate - like Marshall or Sentry, but then the state would get the money.

It would be revenue for the fairgrounds all year long.
