Hey, justsayno: Did you forget the dot-com bubble-burst, and the fiscal chaos that followed? (Aided and abetted, of course, by Dubya's freewheeling spending ...) Experience? Let's see ... how much community organizing has Hillary Clinton done? What successes of hers can you name? Why are you voting for her when you really want Bill as your president? Are you assuming that, as a female, she will play marionette to Bill's policies? Bill Clinton's first official act of president of the United States: Signing "Don't-Ask-Don't-Tell." THERE'S some serious Democratic action. His biggest act in office? Signing away jobs (plenty have left this city) to multinational corporations so they could pay people abroad pennies on the dollar to steal incomes from U.S. families. Obama was not in the Senate to vote against the war, but he spoke out loudly about it BEFORE any votes were undertaken in Congress. Bill blew it. Hill blew it. You like Hillary, you may as well vote for John McCain. Same animal. Barack Obama has seen the underbelly and worked and lived up-close with the underclass of this nation (that would be me). If I'm going to have a law telling me that I have to buy health insurance (Hill), then someone had better figure out a way for me to be able to afford it, since I can't work anymore. That would be Obama. I dare you to read "Dreams from My Father." That tells you what the man is made of. Written while he was still in law school, and followed up by "The Audacity of Hope." Hope or Hill? Seems clear to me.
It is time for a change, but the thought of Hillary Clinton becoming president scares the h--- out of me! I do think that whoever takes office is going to face 4 years of overwhelming foreign & domestic crises.
I am voting because I cling to the irrationally optimistic delusion that the opinion of the majority actually makes a difference to those making our decisions for us.
lyndee5: the (narrowly) Democratic Congress can't do anything because the Repubs (aided readily by the great Paul Ryan and Bush's vetoes) stop them at every turn. You are ignorantly blaming the victim, while the real special-interest stick-in-the-muds benefit from your ignorance.
I am voting for the Internet for president. Why, you ask? Well, it is bi-partisan, always accessable to the people (subject to crashes and server upgrades), gives fair and truthful answers, is up to date on world and national events and mass appeal. Now then, can we say this about our current leaders?
I am voting to keep the Republicans in. The Democratic Congress has done little to improve our situation so I have no confidence in them. Besides it is our duty to vote as many have given their lives for this freedom.
The draw will be the chance for Democrats to take are country back and hopefully close the flood gates known as Immagration to this once Great Land. There has to be a cap on immagration like any other thing in the world to much of any thing is bad. Why is the U.S.A the landing strip for every countrys outcasts. I realize we are a civil nation but we have to draw a line. We have many of our own on welfare and without insurance, or even a place to lay there heads at night lets fix what is broken then take care of others.
Its my right and duty as an American citizen to vote, that's the draw.
