it makes me drive to black river falls alot to plow two log cabin sites then return to janesville to snow blow my house drive. then at both places, redo the fronts when the plows come through. although, in janesville, i never know when if ever that will be while in cash poor black river falls/hatfield area, my country streets are plowed off before the sun sets or rises, whichever is appropriate.

Nemesis: I'm in the middle of town, and they don't think much of us. When there was so much snow in the street that I had great difficulty getting out, they just laughed and said they "might" look into it.

It has not changed my driving habits. Why should it? I am in the habit of driving much slower in the snow. I always check my brakes after driving through the mounds that the snowplows leave when passing through an intersection. My sister lost her braking ability after driving through one as there was snow packed into the calipers. My driving habits remain the same- cautious in the snow and leave skid marks all over the road in the summer. Whoo-hoo!

No it hasn't changed my driving habits, I must work and function in the outside world.
"good old boys" This shows where you're coming from.
no body is for living in a superfund site. When I went to a university I became an acting president of a environmental group on campus. Went to protests all over. Been there thought like that. Being the "solution" makes you believe you're the clever one. You have the missing link of knowledge that people just can't get. Now it makes me annoyed because it's just nonsense. Like i said it's junk biased science. That community is closed to all works compiled. And only represents the ones for its agendas. I wasn't putting down "commonfolk". I was being sarcastic.
Have a great night greeng time to drive in the new snow to see a friend.

whatitdo-Don't try to give commonfolk a bad name. I'm commonfolk, too. I just choose to agree with science and not the good old boys. I am neither righteous, elitist, nor a Hollywood hero. I am educated in environmental science. I'm trying to be part of the solution, not the problem. By the way, have you changed your driving habits due to the snowfall, because that's what this poll is about, no?

I agree with coffeman about not paying a fine for not shoveling snow. I live next to a greenbelt and the city STILL has not shoveled the snow from the December 19 snowfall.

I have changed my driving habits. I try to stay off the road when it's snowing heavy unless I have to.

As long as people aren't willing to accept climate change, the paradigm cannot shift towards solving the problem effectively. I can't imagine that most these previous comments about climate change and the often misused term "global warming", come from anyone actively involved in solving the problems at hand. Quit whining and get with the program. Besides, this poll is about record snowfall and changes in driving habits, not about bashing the science supporting climate change.

"Global Warming" is just a get rich quick scheme for the people who can see the faults of the weak.
I have no problem with saving money and energy. But using the law to force people to change their lives, based on an unproven theory, is a shame.

I have never been one to be out cruising around in the winter months, but I have gone out less the the last two years due to the extra snow. In the past, I would spread out my Xmas shopping more. This year I tried to do one or two HUGE shopping trips on a single day to avoid the impending snow storms. I also found I have shopped closer to home whenever possible - meaning less trips to the east side stores, such as Menards, Woodmans, etc. It has been a bit pricier but I have just tried clipping coupons and making other cutbacks to compensate.

Global warming is a multi-million dollar hoax -
1. Humans contribute less than 2% of the Carbon Dioxide found in the atmosphere.
2. We are exiting a little ice age.
3. It was warmer in the middle ages before industrialization.
4. Since 1998 it's gotten cooler not warmer.
5. There are as many glaciers are growing as there are shrinking.
6. MOST IMPORTANTLY!! Weather is not climate!

It's all a cycle of the plant. The plant warms and cools. I'm not convinced that our existence has anything to do with global warming. Why was there an ice age when there wasn't any burning of fossil fuels?

I hope no one gets a notice in the mail about being fined for not shoveling their sidewalks. I would send it right back to the city and tell them they can enforce the law on citizens when it follows the law themselves. The sidewalks from the Transit System building up the ramp to E. Memorial and across the tracks has not been cleaned for two snowfalls now. Part of my running route and it makes it very difficult to say the least. Plus, many people walk to Kwik Trip up there and have no clean sidewalk to do so. And yes, I know there has been more snow this winter but I am just making a point of how no one should be fined if the city itself cannot get their sidewalks cleaned in a timely manner.

Do you really think we are going to have a little ice age? The last little ice age was called that because Europeans experienced a rapid cool down because the Atlantic stopped its counter clockwise flow. Do we have temperature data from N America for that period? One by-product of global warming is a shifting of the monsoons more Northward. This would lead to greater levels of snow fall or precipitation in our area. I mean you don't get the "Great Lakes" in a desert. In 78-79 we had huge snowfalls but no warm ups that I can remember. Last year a lot of the snow melted around this time. And it looks like the same might happen this year. What do you think?

Good one, ohmy! The whiners are getting an early start on this one!

What are they gonna do when this "little ice age" really sets in and we have real winter?

It seems the city of Milton doesn't think much of citizens who live in the NW sections of the city when it comes to snow removal.

i voted yes. It's seems that the roads (main ) are worse off then last yr. It seems to take longer for the plows to even do Milton Ave..the city should be ashamed of themselves. hwy 14 from cty H to about hwy 51 seem to be cleaner and as soon as you hit the city they are worse.
