I am so tired of hearing about Brett Farve! Isn't there anything else going on in the world of football?

Since this issue has been resolved, I think it's time for a new poll.

I can now wear the NY Jets Brett Farve Jersey I purschased at a local retail store about 12 years ago. Who knew? Regardless, I will still remain a packer fan

Brett Favre USED to be a classy guy...now, imho, he is just another greedy guy going through a mid-life crisis. Why wouldn't he stay in retirement and help kids learn the SPORT of football and leave the business side of football in his Hall of Fame past...I'd like to hear that he is going to watch the games on Sunday afternoons like the rest of America and root for the guy he spent so many years grooming (Rodgers)! I've been a Packer fan since Bart Starr PLAYED. He should have retired from playing and NOT coached. Apparently, the Ex-Pro players have the INABILITY to stay out of the limelight. Perhaps it's a character flaw they should work on with a professional...

Brett Favre has not lost his mind! Thompson's bunch just wants you to believe that ... in other words, another fabricated lie from the Green and (tarnished) Gold.

Brett has lost his mind! Don't let him fool you. 2008 will not end with Brett starting for any team. INT........................

I admit I was happy to see Brett retire. I was ready to see the Pack move in a new direction. However, I am sad to see Brett leave Green Bay for another team (if the rumors are correct.) He played most of his career here, he should be able to retire from here. I am frustrated at how this all played out. I believe both sides are responsible. The Packer's management should have addressed the issues sooner. I think most people believe there is more to the story than either side is disclosing.

I'm definitley going to miss Brett. Who isn't? I think this is the time where The Packer Fans are seperated from the Favre Fans.

GGGOOOOOO RODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've got a long season coming up, we've sucked before & we'll probably suck again now. The one constant throughout all of Packers history are the awesome fans. Let's not lose that.

I cried when Brett did his farewell speech. He was like family to most of us. I really wanted him back but now it has become such a sore subject that Coach has got to concentrate on the TEAM. He was given chances to come back with everyone welcoming him and he has decided his feelings were too hurt!!??? How old is he....get over it there is no I in team and he has lost the team spirit. Love you Brett but good luck else where. Too bad it wasn't Thompson leaving.

momof5...do you understand the irony of re-cycling Wheaties boxes with Favre's picture.
Farve - recycle? Get it?
They'll be in the bin on my curb next week.
And no, I'm not telling you where I live.

I think the Packers should have treated Brett better. He's given his best years to the team, and then once they've used him up, they cast him away. I hear people saying, "Who does he think he is?" Well, he's Brett Favre, one of the greatest players there ever was. Someday soon, we'll regret this, especially as we won't have the joy of seeing him play with that enthusiasm for the game usually seen only in boys.

The whole situation is sad. I have always admired Brett; he was adamant about staying retired; then he pulls this stunt. Ok he got rejuvenated, the bug got under his skin .... he's back. Put him on as back up to Rodgers who we all know will be hurt if not before the season even starts shortly thereafter, then what? But the circus has to leave town. There's too much media and rumors and crap floating around about it. I, for one, am sick of it. If GB is gonna trade him do it already.

Oh and a note to Brett, a non physical position, $25 million and you turn it down....ARE YOU NUTS! I'm unemployed right now....can I have that job....

Only the fans can end it! As much as we've all loved him, he's taking the low road in this. Brett has fallen off of his pedestal and now is only hurting his legacy with each negative word and every passing day.

SarahB? Where are you getting that information? I just looked at the Tampa Bay website, nothing was listed there.

When the Pack starts 0-3 and Rodgers is out with an injury, we'll see how "smart" Ted Thompson looks.

----

Seriously - TT is letting his ego get in the way of the Packers fielding their best team. Favre is a Hall of Fame quarterback who led the team to a 13-3 record last year and was one game away from the Super Bowl. Why would you NOT want this guy on your team?! Don't give the the manure about "Rodgers has waited his time and earned the right". Plenty of quarterbacks have waited as Brett's backup. Why? Because none of them were as good as Favre.

----

Thompson is not trying to field a winning team in 2008. He is trying to "be in charge". Good luck with that. I say fire Ted Thompson and bring back Brett.

who cares?? Favre got his way because of the excessive amount of whining he did... he came back... so what... how long before he re-retires?? and how long after that will he change his mind again?? whether he's with Green Bay or a different team, he's going to keep on whining until it's overly unbearable...

Favre left Lambeau at about 1:30 today.
As he drove away he was singing:

""I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
Id love you to love me.
Im beggin you to beg me.

Didnt i, didnt i, didnt I see you cryin?
Oh, didnt i, didnt i, didnt I see you cryin?
Feelin all alone without a friend, you know you feel like dyin.
Oh, didnt i, didnt i, didnt I see you cryin?

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
Id love you to love me.
Im beggin you to beg me.""

So much for putting the best team on the field like they should have done. I guess ego's are more important than winning a super bowl.

The SI special issues were worthless from the beginning. They printed so many that there will never be any collector value. I'm seriously thinking of throwing my Favre Wheaties boxes in the recycling...they're probably worthless too.

There must be a loophole in the NFL retirement process that has left everything in such a mess. It's messier because Brett F is so well known. There should be time constraints in the retirement contracts that protects the team-any team--its other players, its administration, as well as the owners or stockholders and dare I say even the fans as well as the retiree. The only ones coming out ahead in this mess are the media--what story to report!
I wonder what this does to the value of all those Sport Illustrated special issues all about BF's retirement?

All of them have a part in it all of them need to step up and end it. Every one is sick of hearing about it and they're making a mockery of the team.

The Packers should end the controversy. Tell BF to go home and mow his lawn. The grass will be growing after the tropical storm moves through, and he's not needed in Green Bay.
