The station opened in June 2007 after several years of discussion between the state Department of Transportation and local officials. Many township residents and local officials didn’t want prime farmland turned into a slab of concrete topped with idling trucks.
Inspectors at the Rock County weigh station get a wealth of information about trucks as they travel across the roadway scales.

Although most trucks get weighed on the roadway, some vehicles are diverted over scales in front of the actual weigh station. Problem trucks can be stopped for further investigation at that point.

When trucks are brought into the weigh station for inspection, they get a thorough going over. This truck was brought in off the scales for a cut tire, and after inspection, was ordered out of service for out of adjustment brakes.
