On the $3 billion Foxconn deal: When Foxconn falls through, and it will, leaving a trail of massive debt for Wisconsin taxpayers, those responsible for this fiasco will be long gone to Washington, D.C., securing lobbyist jobs and making millions just like Tommy Thompson did.

Rep. Peter Barca went to the floor of the Assembly and slammed the Foxconn deal for his entire lifetime and then voted in favor of it. Why? Because if he had voted against it, his constituents would have voted against him, and he would have lost his seat. As a punishment, the Democrats stripped him of his leadership role. They don’t accept anyone who doesn’t toe the line.

On the new state budget: Did anyone really think the new state budget was going to be fair for all? There’s no mention of all the pork that’s included or what the wealthy will get or what the middle class will not get. When you put one party in charge, you get disaster.

On Milton Chamber of Commerce endorsing referendum: The Chamber has endorsed the November school referendum for economic development reasons for the business community, but does an improved business community guarantee better education for students? That’s the question that needs to be asked.

On more bike lanes in Janesville: Why have them? I’ve seen bike lanes and have never seen a bike in them. It’s a waste of time.

On downtown two-way streets: It’s nice that you can enjoy a rough street now going in two directions instead of just one.

On road repairs: Just wondering why it took all summer to do Austin Road from Court Street to Memorial Drive, and they still don’t have the lights or the trees in, and school has started.

On the Emmys: Did everybody watch the Emmys the other night? Isn’t it wonderful that they revived the Three Stooges. Yes, there was Lilly Moe Tomlin, Dolly Curly Parton and Larry Hanoi Jane Fonda. What a ridiculous and disgusting display. The whole thing was disgusting. You know, it’s about entertainment. It’s not about politics. It’s really sad that Hollywood has turned into nothing but a big liberal trash heap.

On FBI wiretapping former Trump campaign chairman: Paul Manafort was in fact wiretapped by Barack Obama’s FBI. Back on March 4, Donald Trump tweeted that his wires had been tapped, and the media collectively called him an insane person. It turns out he was exactly right.

Think about how the party in power taps the phone of the man running the campaign for the other party’s candidate during the heat of the presidential election. Does anybody see anything wrong with that? Anything wrong with the party in power tapping the phone of the other campaign’s leader? Imagine for a second that George W. Bush had had the FBI tap Obama’s campaign chairman’s phone. Do you think the media would be upset about that at all?

On Rock County Walk to End Alzheimer’s: I was just wondering why it’s going to be held in Beloit now. They did a really nice job in Palmer Park in Janesville. I’m not quite sure why they picked Beloit as the place to have the walk now. Could anybody explain why this would be held in Beloit, instead of Janesville at Palmer Park?

On “pick” calls not going Packers’ way: I hate to break it to Davante Adams, but that game wasn’t close enough for a couple of calls one way or the other to make any difference. Atlanta was ahead 34-7 when they took their foot off the gas and started playing a soft, prevent defense and running the ball primarily.

On Parker football coach Clayton Kreger: Not only does Clayton have a vast knowledge of the game of football, but he puts in considerable effort to make these boys into better young men. We really appreciate having Clayton at Parker, and we know we are lucky to have him on the west side.
