On Delavan-Darien School District conducting survey: They still are not understanding. It is not about if people can or can not afford the tax increase, it is about if they believe in the district and how they are able to manage the money. The fact that they “lost” $500,000 over the last two years may not help gain support from voters.
- Here’s a question that they won’t ask, at least not in words. “OK, we shut down one school. Do we get the referendum we want, or do we have to shut down some more stuff to get through to you?”
On three Janesville stores caught selling alcohol to underage buyers: These stings are not the best use of our resources.
- The young people were 19 years old. They entered each establishment, took alcohol to the check out, gave their real driver’s license to the clerk when asked and if they were able to purchase alcohol, the clerk was issued a citation.

On possible cut in state aid to Janesville School District: Milton to get less as well. Great news. And people think the referendums are about districts being greedy? This is a shell game. State passing the buck to local municipalities when it shouldn’t. Scott Walker has been the worst governor for K-12 public education than any other in the history of the state.
On 20 local churches helping to put on this year’s Freedom Fest: This is an awesome event and really shows the great sense of community here in Janesville! Thank you to all the volunteers and churches that participated!
On Time Out Pub & Eatery to close in downtown Janesville: Hope they find a new location. It’s a shame if they just throw in the towel when the downtown is looking up.
