On second burglary at Dubes Jewlery in less than a year: Owner Ken Corey is a sweetheart. I had no idea he was still working. I thought the kids had taken over. I used to stop in and chat with him all the time when I worked downtown.

I know Ken Corey, and he does NOT deserve this. Ken, maybe time to retire!
On Thursday Gazette story, “Those we lost: Local folks who quietly made a difference”: Well done, Janesville Gazette. I wish all media outlets would take the time to do this. What a nice tribute.
On Janesville native losing more than 300 pounds: Way to go, Travis Miller! Keep it up! Glad you decided to make a change for the best!
Travis, thank you for sharing your story. You’re amazing and your willpower is amazing. You are an inspiration to many. Keep up the amazing work!

I wish I had the willpower. I feel like I don’t even know where to begin.
On the end of Saturday bingo at St. Patrick School: Why can’t they move the bingo to somewhere else in town for the people to have their fun on Saturday nights? In this article (“Saying goodbye: After 44 years, St. Patrick’s bingo is ending”), it says it brings in $91,000. That money could be used for other things in the city. The article also says this bingo lets kids age 10 come in and play. That is a very good thing!
To all the volunteers, past and present, thank you for all your service. Your work built a wonderful community and built many lasting memories.
This was our parish for almost 30 years until we retired and moved. Our son attended school here, and I taught preschool. It breaks my heart to hear what has happened to this “family.” My thoughts and prayers for everyone.
On Janesville’s first baby of 2018, Nolan Remington Ayen: Congratulations to Baby New Year and his mom and dad! Best wishes for a wonderful future filled with love!
On unique pet names: When we got our second dog, I named him O.D. (other dog).
