Your paper has lauded all the wonderful things Rep. Paul Ryan has done. Like what? Destroy Medicaid, reduce Social Security benefits, gut Medicare, attempt to destroy "Obamacare," gut the EPA, and the list continues to grow. Yet you have a glowing editorial ("Please don't go, Paul. Congress needs you," Dec. 24) on him.
And President Trump? Are you blind? Most of the economic gains were well under way when Barack Obama was still president. And the stock market being a sign of economic recovery? It only means that people have the confidence to speculate. It is and has always been an artificial measurement of the health of the economy.
Trump got his tax plan, and out of 40 leading economists, only ONE said it would stimulate the gross domestic product. All agreed it would drastically increase the debt. There's nothing to celebrate about Paul Ryan and his rubber-stamp president, unless you enjoy the suffering of their targets: the poor, the elderly and disabled.
