On June 19, I attended the Walworth County GOP candidate forum for the 1st Congressional District. Four of the candidates were present, giving a lively forum.

I learned Nick Polce gives specifics to the questions. A bullet-point answer to the questions by all the other candidates left me hanging: How would they fulfill the needs presented? When asked which congressional caucus would you align yourself to, Polce answered directly: The Freedom Caucus was the same as his beliefs.

Polce’s response to taxation, Obamacare and entitlements were precise and definitive. Many of his answers were in the camp of smaller government and states rights.

I felt all candidates professionally presented themselves, and I thank them for attending. However, I need more direct answers as to how the candidates would vote on issues. The forum showed who currently has read, understands and believes the issues of the current election. The answers I heard from Polce were the only ones which were not wishy-washy. The term limit question was answered by Polce directly with no room for misunderstanding. He wants a six-year term limit for both houses and legislative staff.

Overall, Polce gave me an uplifting feeling about him as a candidate.
