Details for Wesley G. Freeman

Wesley G. Freeman, 85, Town of Cold Spring, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Fairhaven Senior Services, Whitewater. Wes was born on July 15, 1932 to Byron and Edith (Jahnke) Freeman. He was an only child, and was raised on his family farm in Cold Spring. He attended Stone School in Cold Spring, and graduated from Whitewater High School in 1950. After high school, he farmed the family farm and expanded acreage. Wes married June Keske on November 25, 1967. They had two children, Sandra and Byron. He served as director for Badgerland Coop for numerous years and President for four years. Wes served as director for Helenville Mutual Insurance Co. from 1979 to 2014. He served as supervisor for Cold Spring Township for 16 years. Wes was a member of First English Lutheran Church, a member and leader of the Stone School 4-H Club; member and president of Cold Spring Community Club; member of Whitewater FFA; and he was on the advisory council that created the Whitewater FFA Alumni, and was also a lifetime member. Wes is survived by his wife of 50 years, June; children, Sandra (Bruce) Lucht, Byron Freeman; and grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Lucht, all of Cold Spring Township. He is further survived by four brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and many cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the First English Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., Whitewater, WI 53190. Burial will follow at the Cold Spring Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Nitardy Funeral Home, 550 N. Newcomb St. Whitewater and on Friday at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of the service.
