Homosassa, FL/formerly of Janesville, WI -- Thelma A. McCue, age 87, formerly of Janesville, WI, and Bowling Green, KY, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 11, 2018 in Homosassa, FL. Thelma was born in Janesville, WI, on June 20, 1930, to the late Karl and Konradine “Dina” (Aamodt) Korsmo. Thelma married Charles I. McCue on Nov. 10, 1951, at the 1st Lutheran Church in Janesville and followed him through his careers in the U.S. Navy, as a deputy sheriff in Rock County and as Chief of Security for the General Motors Company. She was a typist for the Parker Pen Company for several years.
Thelma was a dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed spending quality time with family, cooking, reading books on her Kindle, taking care of her bonsai tree, watching “her shows” on television and playing scrabble (she reigned as the family Scrabble Queen). She never forgot a birthday or a special occasion! Thelma took tremendous pride in maintaining connections with family in Norway. She was proud to see that bond continue with her children and grandchildren. Thelma is truly missed and will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles; son, Bradley (Dana) McCue of Waukesha, WI; daughter, Tamara (Ben) Soper of Tacoma, WA; sons, Michael (Holly) McCue of Louisville, KY and Eric (Kamolpan) McCue of Homosassa, FL; five grandchildren: Alexandra McCue, Timothy McCue, Kayla (Christian) Kinley, Andrew Soper, Davis McCue; former daughter-in-law, Susan Davis of Louisville, KY; nieces and nephews, including Richard (Judy) McCue of Janesville, WI, and Debbie Smoker (Keith Lippert) of Englewood, FL. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kaare Korsmo; sister, Helga Melichar; and son-in-law, Mark Soper.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Diamond Ridge Health and Rehabilitation, Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast, Annabelle, James, Eva, Jessica, Luba and Pastor Hall.
Friends and relatives are invited to a Memorial Service in celebration of Thelma’s life to be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 27 ,at 16 HACKBERRY DR., HOMOSASSA, FL 34446. Interment will be private.
