Beloit, WI -- Samuel F. “Sam” Swinehart, age 93, of Beloit, died Monday May 14, 2018. Sam enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1943, and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1946. He worked at Fairbanks Morse as an expeditor until his retirement in 1989. Sam was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, and the Quarter Century Club. He was a deputy representative for D.A.V. in Madison, the D.A.V. past Commander of Chapter 14, and volunteered at the Madison VA and at Beloit Hospital. Sam was a participant of the 2012 Vets Roll trip to Washington.

He is survived by his children: Barbara (David) Jordan of San Jose, CA, Leland (Cindi) Swinehart of Fort Meyers, FL, Charles (Christine) Swinehart of San Jose, CA, Janice Carter of Pocatello, ID and Sheila (Scott) Dunbar of Roscoe, IL; eight grandchildren: Matthew Jordon, Lindsay (James) Morris, Anthony (Amber) Swinehart, Terry Carter, Tracy (Adam) Bateman, Travis Carter, Casper Eichen and Xavier Eichen; and seven great-grandchildren: Curran, Kyla & Andrew, Charlotte, Sophia, Samuel and Caleb. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters; and nine brothers.

Sam’s Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. on Friday May 18, 2018 in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Rev. Randy Senn officiating. Friends will be received on Friday at the Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites will be accorded in the funeral parking lot following his service.
