Leon R. Seaverson, 65, of Clinton, WI, died suddenly after a short battle with cancer on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born March 20, 1952 in Elkhorn, WI, the son of Gerald and Grada (Miedema) Seaverson. Leon was a 1970 graduate of Clinton High School. He married Margaret “Margie” Whalen on August 10, 1974 in St. Andrews Catholic Church, Delavan, WI. Leon was employed by Beloit Corporation and Rockford Manufacturing. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and watching sports. Leon was an Atlanta Falcon fan. He was an easy going man, who was known for his smile and laugh. Leon was a former member of Jefferson Prairie Church. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Marge Seaverson of Clinton; children, Gregg (Meghan Polender) Seaverson of Oak Creek, WI, and Tiffany Seaverson, formerly known as Steve, of Madison, WI; sisters, Linda (John McClelland) Seaverson of Ames, IA, and Carol (Fred) Harmon of Janesville, WI; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, Frances (Manfred) Werfelmann of Little Rock, AR, James (Georgianna) Whelan of Gilman, WI, Marcus (Sandy) Whelan of Fairfield, WI, Marilyn (Gary) Bailey of Janesville, Jane Flatt of Janesville, Michael (Joann) Whalen of Janesville, and Bob (Lynn) Whalen of Janesville; numerous aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; cousins; and a very special aunt, Janice Wells of South Beloit, IL. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Allan Seaverson; brother-in-law, Bill Flatt; and sister-in-law, Ruth Carter. Funeral service for Leon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Clinton Cemetery. Visitation of remembrance will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.
