Details for Elizabeth "Liz" Mellon

Janesville, WI -- Elizabeth (Liz) Mellon, age 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Cedar Crest in Janesville. Liz was born on July 7, 1921, in Mountain, WI, the third of nine children to Barbara (Mackiewicz) and Leo D’Angelo. She married Vincent Libassi in Suring, WI, her first daughter, Nancy (Libassi) Boyd was born 3 years later. Vincent served in the U.S. Army, and was killed in action in Korea. Liz married Robert Mellon and was blessed with a second daughter, Vicki (Mellon) Naatz. Liz worked at Amphenol Corporation and Parker Pen Company for several years. She loved her family, enjoyed cooking, playing cards, crossword puzzles, bingo, and spending time with her niece, Suzie (D’Angelo) and husband, Tim Mitchell while vacationing “up north” near her birthplace in Wisconsin. Liz was an avid Green Bay Packers Fan.

Liz is survived by her daughter, Nancy; three grandchildren: Kim Boyd (fiancé, Michael Arnold), Kurt (Chris) Boyd, Melissa (John) Naatz-Busch; great grandson, Joey Boyd, of whom she was very proud, as with all her grandchildren; brother, Alex (Marion) D’Angelo; sister-in-law, Doris (Leonard) D’Angelo; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Paul, Irene, Vito, Ben, Leonard, James, and Patricia; husbands, Vincent and Robert; and daughter, Vicki (Mellon) Naatz.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Liz’s life. A visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Schneider Funeral Home.
