Details for Diane Marie Cawkins

Diane Marie Cawkins, age 54, of Janesville, died unexpectedly on Monday February 5, 2018, at home. She was born in Janesville on December 23, 1963, the daughter of Robert and Joyce (Wyss) Gray. Diane attended Janesville schools, and graduated from Parker High School in 1982. On May 21, 1983, she married her high school sweetheart, Steven H. Cawkins, and together they had three wonderful children. Diane worked for many years at St. Elizabeth Nursing Home in Janesville. She was a lover of crafting, sewing, and gardening. She would spend hours making decorations for the residents to enjoy, poured love into every quilt, and spent hours picking tomatoes to share with her family and friends. Her family was the light of her life, and truly made her proud. She spoiled her grandchildren in a way only a grandmother could. Diane was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, always teaching them the values and responsibility that life brings. She was very honest, loving, dedicated, and a sometimes stubborn and opinionated woman, who will be missed very much.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; and three children: Matthew (Kari Wilde) Cawkins of Monroe, Nicole (George Lankford) Cawkins of Beloit, and Timothy Cawkins of Janesville; grandchildren who she adored, Trenton Cawkins and Maci Lankford; her mother, Joyce Gray of Janesville; two sisters, Ann (Dale) Gackstatter of Janesville and Carrie Hiller of Janesville; and her brother, Mike Gray of Arlington, TX. She is further survived by her mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Jean Cawkins of Janesville; brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Susan Cawkins of Freeport, IL, Bryan and Renee Cawkins of Janesville, and Jeanine Cawkins of Janesville. Diane was predeceased by her father, Robert Gray; and her grandparents.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. David Bergelin officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Whitcomb – Lynch Funeral Home & Cremation Services 21 S.
