Edgerton/Mission, TX -- Carol J. Coplien, age 93, of Edgerton/Mission TX, formerly of Brodhead, WI. She went home to be with the Lord while residing at Autumn Winds in Cambridge, WI. She was born on July 17, 1924 in Brodhead, WI, the daughter of Chester and Ada Gempeler. Carol graduated from Brodhead High School in 1942. She married Russell G. Coplien on September 15, 1943 at Alameda Naval Air Station in San Francisco, CA. She worked at Madison Hardware Co., Fairbanks in Beloit, Tiffany General Store / Post Office with her parents, and Edgerton Shoe Factory. She resided in Brodhead, Janesville, Edgerton, and retired to Mission in 1984. Due to Russell’s health, they moved back to Edgerton in 2004. She was a member of Janesville Bible Baptist Temple for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bingo, watching game shows and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her four children: Ted (Lynn) Coplien of Black River Falls, Vicki (Tom) Watson of Grand Prairie, TX, Debbie (Bruce) Marsden of Edgerton, and Bill (Cindy) Coplien of Black River Falls. She was blessed with 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Charlene Hesgard; her husband, Russell; her son-in-law, Duane Olmstead.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018 at EVERSON FUNERAL HOME, Brodhead, with Paul Olmstead and Rev. Tom Watson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodhead. Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rainbow Hospice Care or Autumn Winds LLC in Carol’s name.
