USMC Captain William L. Wenger (Ret.) was born December 18, 1933 in Stanley, WI, to Eli and Goldie Wenger. He passed away on December 27, 2017 at his home in Delavan. Bill was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Short with words and strong with actions, he was funny yet serious, accomplished yet humble, brave, stubborn, and generous, leaving an honorable legacy our children can only hope to match. William is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Ann (Krabbe) Wenger; daughter-in-law, Georgia Wenger; grandchildren: Emily (Tim) Adams, Daniel (Aubrey) Wenger, and Ashley (Dana) Miller; great-grandchildren: Blake William Adams, Hunter Steven Adams, Timothy Cruz Adams, and Lola Camille Wenger. He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Michael Carl and Steven Eli; granddaughter, Cassandra Wenger; and three sisters: May, Hazel, and Dorothy. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018, at the Delavan American Legion Post #95, 111 S. 2nd St, Delavan, from 12 p.m. until the time of service and Military Honors at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Delavan American Legion Post #95, 111 S. 2nd St., Delavan, WI 53115 are appreciated.
