Thomas “Tom” J. Bushaw, age 78, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. He was born in Janesville, on Jan. 20, 1935, the son of John and Julia (Courtney) Bushaw and his stepfather, Stan Cole. He graduated from Janesville High School in 1954, served in the U.S. Army for six years, including three years in Germany, and was one of the first Satellite Trackers. Tom married Evalee J. Tuck in First Baptist Church, Beloit, on Oct. 25, 1958. He had been employed by Gilman Engineering for 25 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the VFW Post 1621, the American Legion in Footville, 32nd Red Arrow, and the Machinist Union. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, traveling, going to military reunions and was an avid fan of the Packers and Badgers.
Tom is survived by his wife, Evalee Bushaw; four children: Allen (Kerry) Bushaw of Columbia City, IN, Steven (Julie) Bushaw of Janesville, Linda (Troy) Knudson of Beloit, and Julie (Kevin) Walther of Stratford, WI; seven grandchildren: Ryan Bushaw, Alyssa (William) Shire, Cory and Jeffery Knudson, Christopher, Mackenzie and Alexis Walther; two great-grandchildren due in June; two siblings, Ray (Norma) Bushaw of Janesville, and Doris Stuhr of Janesville; uncle, Jack Courtney of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; sister, Rita Day; and three brothers-in-law: Mike Day, Dean Henschel, and Bob Stuhr.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. John Thomson officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 until 7 p.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME.
