Jack Holcomb, 77, of Beloit, WI, died on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Our House Memory Care Assisted Living in Janesville, WI.
Jack was born on June 20, 1935 in Monroe, WI, the son of Leon and Alma (VanMeter) Holcomb. Jack attended schools in Monroe and married Rosalee Kopp-Bauman on June 20, 1953 in Monroe.
Jack was employed for most of his life as a Union Concrete Finisher. He worked for many years at Cunningham Construction and Klobucar Construction both in Beloit before going into business for himself. Jack was a determined, honest, and hard working man who always enjoyed socializing and a good laugh. He enjoyed boating and fishing and had a true love for Hershey's Chocolate Bars.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Our House Memory Care. Jack truly considered "Our House" his home and loved the food they served.
Jack is survived by three sons: Terry (Denise) Holcomb of Milton, WI, Kevin Holcomb of Orfordville, WI, and David (Donnetta) Holcomb of Beloit; six grandchildren, Mandi, Ross, Shelly, Tallie, Hannah, and Holly; and his brother, Keith (Andrea) Holcomb of Reedsburg, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents, and former wife, Rosalee Holcomb.
Private funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home in Beloit followed by a committal service at Newark Cemetery in Rural Northwest Beloit. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Our House Memory Care, 4333 Pheasant Run, Janesville, WI 53545.
