Gordon L. Garske, Janesville  (1933 - 2013)

Gordon L. Garske, age 79, of Janesville, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 3, 2013, at his home. He was born Nov. 23, 1933, in Rock County, the son of the late Eric and Ellen (Richards) Garske. He was married to the former Patricia L. Palmer on Oct. 30, 1977. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2009. Gordie worked for over 33 years at General Motors Corp., retiring in 1988. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 95. He loved visiting casinos, bowling, and watching and following NASCAR. Gordie was a "die-hard" New York Yankees fan. His great love was his wife and family, and he will be remembered for his devotion to Pat!
Gordie is survived by his nine children and step-children: Carol (Steve) Buckner, Ron (Brenda) Garske, Faith (Wayne) Linnerude, Gordon (Linda) Garske, Philip Garske, Lee Clough, Lori (Gerry) Stout, Lynne Clough, and LuAnn (Sam) Jones; his 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and by his loving companion, his dog, Maggie.
As per Gordie's wishes, private family services will take place at a later date.
