Gerald "Jerry" Robert Scobie, Redmond, OR/formerly Janesville  (1956 - 2013)

Gerald "Jerry" Robert Scobie, age 57, died Feb. 5, 2013, in his home in Redmond, OR, after his latest battle with cancer. Jerry was born in Janesville, to Ron and Eunice (Johnson) Scobie. Jerry graduated from Parker High School in 1974. He graduated from UW-Whitewater in 1978, with a degree in finance. He married Cindy Iben, mother of his three children, in 1978. They later divorced. The last 35 years of his life were spent in the Northwest. He completed the State of Oregon State Boards in Accounting in 1981. He began his career at the Columbian (Vancouver, WA) newspaper as their financial officer. He belonged to the Oregon Society of Public Accountants and served on the Board of Directors for the International Newspaper Financial Executives. He later worked as Controller for the Oregon Statesman Journal in Salem, OR, up to the time of his death. Jerry married Jaci Stoddard in 1995.
Cherishing Jerry's memory are his wife, Jaci; his parents, Ron and Eunice Scobie; his daughter, Kim (Ryan) Howland and their children; Luke and Brodie; son, Jon (Pam) Scobie and their daughter, Camilla; and son, Dan Scobie. Jerry is also survived by sisters, Pat (Mike) Spors and Deb Scobie.
Jerry was amazing in his fight against cancer over the years. His motto was to live his life to the fullest and he did that!
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Janesville, on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Mayo Clinic and will be designated for Ewing's Sarcoma Cancer research.
