Daniel B. Richmond, age 74, of Janesville, passed away early Thursday morning, Feb. 28, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 9, 1938, in Morrison, IL, the son of the late Paul and Mary Richmond. He was the youngest of eight children. On July 4, 1989, he married the former Lois M. Moore, and they've been married 23 years. For the past 20 years, Dan has been employed by the Van Galder Bus Co., as a Driver, and more recently as a Ticket Agent.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Lois; his two sons, Douglas (Kelly) Richmond and Bradley (Cheryl) Richmond; his step-children, Kristie (Darwin) Conkle and Jack (Connie) Smith; 10 grandchildren: Adrian, Andrew and Taylor Richmond, Alan McLain, Zackery and Emily Hyser, Megan and Morgan Smith, and Eric and Shannon Smith; nine great-grandchildren: his two sisters, Joanne Linton and Mary Lou Johnson; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; and his step-son, Jeffrey Smith.
A Memorial Service in celebration of Dan's life will take place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, 2931 Lucerne Dr., with Rev. Jerry Dean officiating. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial in Dan's name will be established.
