Clarence Yoss, Janesville, WI (1931 - 2013)

Clarence Yoss, age 81, passed away on Jan. 23, 2013, at home. Clarence was born on Feb. 22, 1931, to Esther (Schiller) and Christ Yoss in Arpin, WI. He attended Baraboo High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1959. He was stationed in Paris, France, which he enjoyed very much. He married Janice Williams in June 1954. She preceded him in death in 1963. He married Mary Larson on Dec. 19, 1964. Clarence was a devoted husband, who adored Mary. He retired from General Motors in 1989, and worked at Schuler's Country Furniture until 2008.
Clarence was a huge Green Bay Packer fan, and hadn't missed many games since they became televised. He loved classic country music, tending to his beautiful gardens, building furniture and several other hobbies. Above all Clarence loved his family. He was the best dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He was the glue that kept his large brood together, and will greatly missed.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Mary, of Janesville; nine children: Dick (Rita) Millis of Orfordville, Bob (Julie) Millis of Independence, KY, Tim (Jodi) Millis of Janesville, Cher'rie Yoss of Harlingen, TX, Mark (Cindy) Millis of Jasper, IN, Vicki (Todd McConochie) of Janesville, Denise (Paul) Meyer of Monona, WI, Sue Bargander of Marshfield, WI, and Kris (B.J.) Mawhinney of Johnstown, WI; 18 grandchildren: Nate (Stacy), Stephanie, Andrea (Ryan), Daniel, Kari (Shawn), Carly, Erin, Charlie, Clancee (Cal), Brian (Laura), Steven, Randy (Bailey), Jeff, Mike, Dan, Eliot, Cody and Noah; and his "adopted" granddaughter, Jen; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice (Wayne) Hook of Baraboo, WI, and Shirley (Russ) Marquardt of Florida. Clarence was preceded in death by his first wife and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. DeeAnn Woods officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at the FUNERAL HOME. Memorials in Clarence's name may be made to Agrace HospiceCare, Inc., 3001 W. Memorial Dr., Janesville, WI 53548. In honor of Clarence's great love for the Packers, Mary and his family request that you wear your favorite Packers clothing to the visitation and/or service!
