Marvin C. Gietzel, 87, of Edgerton, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at his home. He was born on Aug. 29, 1925, in Burnett, WI, son of the late Herbert and Frieda (Marohl) Gietzel.
Marvin is survived by one daughter, Heidi (Roger) Schieldt of Edgerton; one son, John (Julie) of Roscoe, IL; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Jeanne Gietzel of Horicon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; son, Thomas; and brother Ralph.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at CENTRAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, Edgerton, with the Rev. James M. Johnson officiating. Friends may call at the CHURCH on Sunday, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Full Military services will be held at the church by the Edgerton Memorial Squad.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials in Marvin's name to Central Lutheran Church or to the organization of their choice.
