Freddie Frank "Fritz" Weber, Janesville  (1927 - 2013)

September 22, 1927 - January 21, 2013
Freddie Frank "Fritz" Weber, 85, of Janesville, WI, received his wings on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. Fred was born on Sept. 22, 1927, in Johnstown, WI, the first of four children of Bazel and Edna (Duesterbeck) Weber. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Fred married Norma Jacobs on Sept. 4, 1954, in Clinton, WI.
Fred was a hard working man that juggled many jobs, which included working on various farms, all while working full time as a pattern custodian at Beloit Corporation, from where he retired in 1992. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, bowling, and playing cards with his family and friends. Fred could "shoot the bull" with the best of them and was known for his many stories. Even though he had a gruff exterior and was referred to as "Archie Bunker" by his family, he had a big heart and would do anything for anybody. Fred was a member of Darien United Methodist Church in Darien, WI.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Norma; daughter, Lynn Weber (Bob Damp) of Janesville; son, David Weber of Brodhead, WI; grandchildren: Stephanie, Jaimee, and Bailey Miller, Matt, Erin, and Evan Weber; sisters, Carrie Barrenger of Magnolia, WI, Marie Dietzel of Beloit; brother, Frank (Wanda) Weber of Fort Atkinson, WI; granddogs, Winnie and Bruiser; along with special friends, the Steve Golz family; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey on Aug. 21, 2009.
Fred's family would like to thank caregivers, Marija and Dani, for their exceptional care, the nurses of Agrace Hospice, Lavern Fuch for his special compassion, the Clifton Family, Barb Lee, and the many other family and friends for their support in our time of need.
Funeral services are at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at HANSEN-GRAVITT FUNERAL HOME, 424 Prospect Street, Beloit, with Reverend Ken F. Markley, Jr. of Darien Methodist Church officiating.
