Dale F. Utzig, age 82, of Spring Green, and formerly of Janesville, passed away following an extended illness on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the Sunnyside Nursing Home in Dodgeville. He was born on March 20, 1930, in Rock County, the son of Fred and Hazel (Splinter) Utzig. He was married on June 18, 1949, to the former Joan Bernard.
Survivors include, his wife Joan Utzig of Spring Green; three children: Terry Utzig and Linda (Ken) Olander, both of Jefferson, WI, Robert (Chris) Utzig of Norwalk, WI; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruthie Zaborek of Janesville; several nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel Utzig; and a brother, Howard Utzig.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH in Spring Green. Rev. Douglas Larson-Sell will officiate, with burial in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Online Condolences available at www.staffordfuneralhomes.com.
