Lovenia E. McReynolds, Walworth, WI  (1920 - 2013)

Loveina E. "Dyne" McReynolds, age 92, of Walworth, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. Dyne was born May 24, 1920, at Platteville, WI, to parents Frank and Edna (Manuel) Goss. Here she was raised and attended school, graduating from Platteville High School. She received her teaching degree from Wisconsin State Teacher's College, now the University of Wisconsin Platteville. Dyne was united in marriage to Dale C. McReynolds on June 8, 1943, in Kahoka, MO. She began her teaching career at LaFarge and Dodgeville, WI. The couple then moved to Walworth, WI in 1947, where Dyne first worked for Spruce Realty before beginning her career in 1954 teaching 3rd grade in the Walworth Grade School for 27 years. She retired in 1981 after teaching elementary school for over 30 years.
Dyne is survived by her son, Tom and his wife, Jeanie McReynolds of Fontana, WI; a cherished grandson, Tom and his wife, Christina of Walworth, WI; two sisters-in-law, Geneva and husband Harold "Huck" Beals and Esther McReynolds, both of Platteville, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale "Mac"; two brothers, Richard and Frank "Peck"; and a sister, Freda.
Dyne was an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver. She always looked forward to watching sports on TV, especially her favorite, baseball. She enjoyed knitting and different types of craft work. In earlier years she loved gardening, decorating and entertaining at her house in the country and always being able to visit with her many friends in the community and most recently at Golden Years. She loved teaching and always enjoyed hearing about her past students and their accomplishments. She always looked forward to the many spring trips south with Mac at the beginning of baseball season. Dyne loved all animals, especially her many cats and dogs who were always a big part of her life and most recently looked forward to visits from her "Granddog" "Charlie" at Golden Years. Dyne always greeted everyone with a big smile and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her and loved her, especially her family. She will always be remembered for her big heart and her kindness and caring for others.
Services for Loveina E. McReynolds will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the IMMANUEL UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Walworth, WI, with Pastor Steven Buchanan, officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the TOYNTON FUNERAL HOME in Walworth, WI. Interment will be in the Walworth Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Immanuel United Church of Christ of Walworth, WI or the Lakeland Animal Shelter of Elkhorn, WI.
