Paul V. Schmidt, Footville, WI  (1919 - 2013)

Paul V. Schmidt, age 93, of Footville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Woods Crossing in Brodhead. He was born on Oct. 28, 1919, in Monticello, to his parents John C. “Jack” and Grace (Legler) Schmidt. Paul attended Brodhead High School. On June 24, 1939, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Pinnow at Dubuque, IA. Paul farmed in the Town of Magnolia, for many years until retiring to Footville, WI, in 1978. Following his retirement, he worked for Footville Equipment Company until 1981, and also helped with area farm work. Paul and Marjorie enjoyed many days at their cottage on Big Lake Chetac.
Paul is survived by a niece, MaryAnn (Harold) Cramer of Orfordville, WI; nephews, Richard Olin and Robert (Lyvonne) Olin, both of Brodhead, WI, Russell (RexeAnn) Olin of Horseshoe Bend, AR; and many cousins; great-nieces; and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John in 1992, and Grace in 2000; wife, Marjorie in 2003; a son, Duane in 1955; and a brother Burnett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the BRODHEAD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 501 1st Center Ave., Brodhead, WI, with Pastor Hap Itson officiating, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery in Brodhead.
Relatives and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the BRODHEAD UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.
The ZENTNER-BEAL FUNERAL HOME of New Glarus is serving the family.
