Clarence James Bigelow, Jr., age 83, of Whitewater, WI, passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at Fairhaven in Whitewater. Clarence was born in the Town of Richmond, WI, the son of Clarence and Catherine (Daley) Bigelow. He was a lifelong farmer, managed a milk plant for 4 and 1/2 years, and hauled milk for 15 years prior to his retirement in 1993. On July 9, 1949, Clarence married Nancy Joyce Ott in the Town of Richmond, WI. Clarence was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewater, WI, and served as head usher for 15 years. He was a volunteer fireman and EMT for the LaGrange Fire Department for 17 years. He was a member and board member of the Pure Milk Products Cooperative and a board member of the Wisconsin Dairies.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy J. Bigelow of Whitewater; his children: Nancy (Kenneth) Krening of Fort Atkinson, WI, Lois Jung of Fort Atkinson, James (Cindy) Bigelow of Whitewater, and Debbie (Duane) Snell; his siblings: Carol (Tom) Jordens of Neosho, WI, Susan (Lawrence) Storck of Fort Atkinson, Tom (Judy) Bigelow of Winchester, IN, Donna Lewis of Menomonee, MI, Charles Bigelow of Florida, Ellie (Rick) Hartman of Whitewater, WI, and adopted sister, Diana (Jeff) Simes of Whitewater; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, June Burdick and Bonnie Siegmann.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 145 S. Prairie Street, Whitewater, WI, with Rev. Susan Bresser officiating. Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery, Town of Richmond, WI.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. on Friday at the FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, Whitewater, until the time of the services.
