Brenda J. Peat, 47, of Janesville, peacefully completed this life's journey, Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at her home surrounded by family. Brenda was born on April 1, 1965, in Janesville, WI, to Bernard and Jean (Jewell) Love and from early on was strong willed and independent. She graduated from Milton High School in 1983, and worked for Milton Data, before taking a job at Cuna Mutual in Madison, where she worked for 18 years, making many friends along the way. On April 26, 1997, Brenda married her love, Daniel Peat, in Monona, WI. Together they traveled and loved spending time at their camper, among the many friends and family there. Brenda was an active member of the Milton United Methodist Church and developed strong relationships with her church family. Brenda looked out for everyone she loved, had a quick wit, loved to laugh and had an amazing smile. She enjoyed fishing, reading and above all cherished the time spent with her family, especially all of her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Peat of Janesville; mother, Jean Love of Milton; step-son, Willy Peat (Stephanie Kasubaski) of Madison; step-granddaughter, Maylee Peat; step-grandson, Will Peat; brothers and sisters: Bernie Love of Milton, Randy (Barb) Love of Richmond, VA, Cindi (Eddie) Roberson of Verona, WI, Mark (Cheri) Love of De Pere, WI; nieces and nephews: Jeremy, David and JJ Love, Hilary, Mallory, Anna, and Morgan Love, Sam and Owen Roberson, Michaela and Stephanie Love; and great-nieces and nephews: Genesis, Phebe, Micah, and Brennan; and many in-laws; other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Love, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at the MILTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH with Pastor Patrick Schultz officiating. Burial will take place following the service at Darien Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICE, Milton, from 4 until 7 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at the CHURCH on Thursday.
