Milton Lavern Krueger, Evansville, WI  (1919 - 2013)

Milton Lavern Krueger, age 93, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison. He was born on Nov. 11, 1919, the son of Verne and Mabel Krueger. Milton was a member of the United Methodist Church in Evansville, serving on the trustees and was involved with the Masonic Lodge #32 of Evansville, throughout his life. Always on the go, he continued to work out three times a week at Stoughton Hospital Cardiac Rehab facility, where he made several friends. During the summer months, you could find him in his garden and in the fall, he harvested grapes to make homemade wine. An avid sportsman, he loved to hunt. His love of life and people made him special. He enjoyed having visitors and had quite the gift of gab.
Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, who passed away on Sept. 6, 2007. Mildred was the love of his life and he now joins her in paradise. Surviving are his four sons: Jerry (Janice), Bryant (Cathy), Tom, all of Evansville, Lavern of Kansas City; and a daughter, Susan (Krueger) Katzenmeyer of Madison; three grandchildren: Eli (Beckie) Katzenmeyer of Madison, Jenny (Matt) Persons and Sara (Paul) Krueger, of Evansville; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at the WARD FUNERAL HOME, Evansville, with Reverend Kyung-Sook (Sue) Lee of the United Methodist Church, Evansville, officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Evansville. A visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, with a Masonic service at 6 p.m. at the WARD FUNERAL HOME.
